Of those that experienced cyber attacks, all of them suffered losses as a result in various forms such as customer identifiable information, environment downtime, theft of intellectual property, and theft of customer credit card information. For the affected businesses, these security breaches translate into lost productivity, lost revenue and loss of customer trust.

The combined average cost of these losses amounted to around $2 million annually and significantly higher for larger enterprises.
